How to Auto Publish Instagram Picture to WordPress

One of our friends was looking for a way to auto-publish her latest Instagram shot to her WordPress site as a blogpost. She’s an artist and takes lots of awesome pictures. However, due to time constraint, she has no time to update her blog. Rather than just leave the blog dead, it does make sense for her to auto publish her latest Instagram image as a blog post on her site.

Enter Instagrate to WordPress plugin.

After activating the plugin, you must first integrate your Instagram account with your WordPress site.

Once you’ve done, you may configure the plugin from its settings page. Simply go to Settings > Instagrate to WordPress.

There are lots of things can be configured, such as:

  • Image size and class
  • Default post category
  • Default post format
  • Default post author
  • Default title text
  • Custom title text
  • and much more…

The plugin is available in two versions. The free version is available from WordPress.org plugin repo and the Pro version can be purchased from the official Instagrate site.

The free version should be good for most users. However, if you want more control such as auto filter based on hashtag, support for custom post types and custom taxonomies, video integration, Google maps integration for location and more, you may want to consider to buy the Pro version.
